Underbody work..didn't know where to post
Im wanting to clean up my underbody, theres a few places well like 1/3 of the underbody is starting to show surface rust. Am I looking at taking everything off the bottom of the car(or working around some stuff) and sanding it then coating it? I heard from someone that they make some stuff you can apply and it eats away the rust and the seals it so rust wont develop there anymore. I dont (well it's extremly rare) to be in the rain, so once I fix it shouldn't be a problem. Any Ideas?

I sanded the surface rust off the bottom of my car right before I stored it for winter. Then I got the underside oiled at Krown Rustproofing (Not sure of the American equivalent). I don't really see a need to paint the underside (unless its for show purposes) . You will just be covering up the problem. I just tell them to use the spray they would usually use on my engine bay on the underside. After 6 months on the road its still looks great. Not sure of a product that eats rust though ???

I took a wire brush to the underside of my car and then got some chassis paint and brushed it on looks great. Go to www.eastwood.com so you can see what products are out there. the chassis paints are in the speciality coatings section
