Default Stoock Mustang Short Shifter

I went to the book store to day, quite unusual for me but whatever, and i was reading a bunch of ford performance books. I read in the book this little coment about 85 GTs having a "factory short shifter" Since Since my father has one "temporarily parked" in the garage i went and checked. Shure enough the shifter throw was a little shy of an inch shorter. I was like wow cool. Then i switched out my stock 90 shifter and put is in and it felt alot better. Just thought id tell everyone. Now before the naysayers come out, it may be just a wierd shifter the 85 had or something had but hey it works. Comments welcome.[&:]

I got the Steeda tri-ax shifter but when I took the stock shifter off, i broke the bushing. this was a while ago though and it shifts fine but, how much of a difference would the rubber bushing make? just wondering...
