87 Mustang 5.0 weak spark? issue
Have a 87 Mustang GT Convertible that has just started having an issue. Ran fine when I went to work and back today. Went to go somewhere earlier and suddenly had an issue. Starts just fine, but when you go to give it gas it kinda..lugs...in all gears.. new t-5 manual transmission, runs a little better at higher rpms but not much, replaced the coil but still seeing a weak kinda orangish spark coming from the coil despite being replaced. Replaced coil after having replaced distributor cap and rotor button with no change. Also when under load smelling kind of a rotten eggish smell, not sure if related to issue I am having as Cat. Converter and whole exhaust system is brand new from BBK. Not sure what else I should look for as the Chilton's manual I have has no trouble shooter or much info..most useless Chilton's manual I have ever seen. Has also been "popping" (back through intake?).
Any help would be appreciated.

Where are you checking spark from the coil? Is it from the coil wire to the center post on the distributor cap? If so check your wire. Check anything ignition related like the pickup, TFI module, and wiring. The pickup and TFI usually just fail but its good to eliminate all possibilities.

Thanks for the help mongolchuck. Swapped out the TFI and she's running fine again, matter of fact better than before. All the wiring is brand new (although that don't mean that there wouldn't have been an issue, just was not at the top of the list.) Hopefully nothing else will pop up until I have the body and paint done (where my ignorant boss backed into me at work..grrr!).
