Default horsepower estimate

theres no chassis dyno around my area, so i wanted to get an estimate of what i might have. My motor is a '88 302, edlebrock "air gap" intake manifold, 289 heads with adjustable rockers, bbk headers, bbk h-pipe, 2 chamber flowmasters, 700 cfm carburator, and 3.73 gears. thanx for any help

And a 700 cfm carb on that motor is much too much for whats done to it

Yes i agree600-650 would suit the motor much better.700 is overkill.By swapping it for a smaller carb you would get a crisper response and it would have a little better driving habits.

I have 600 EDELBROCK on my 331 and its perfect.

I'd say roughly you were around 225-235 HP.But thats a guess and do not hold me to it.Theres no real way of knowing without a dyno.

600 edelbrock carb really isn't a real great performace carb..it is however A really good carb for an everyday driver.....a 670 demon would really wake your car up depending on your cam

In fact you would also gain quite a bit of horsepower and torque by swapping to a smaller carb.
