Default 95 GT oil pump

My first post, so go easy on me. I've got a chance to pick up a 95 GT Convertible w/ 302 for $1000. It's got 93k on it, and the exterior looks great, interior needs work, and it needs a new convertible top motor. The main issue is the owner says it needs a new Oil Pump. I'm thinking, easy, $20 and I'm rocking. Unfortunately, short of going to buy the manual tommorrow, I can't find any info on doing this. In all your expert opinions, is it wise to undertake such a thing on I can I've never seen run? And if so, about how long can I expect this to take, and on a scale of 1-10, how hard? I know I'm asking alot here, but if you have any links or can direct me to a how to, that would be great also. Thanks in advance.

Default RE: 95 GT oil pump

well this is not for the novice......what it intails is removing the oil pan, also while there a new rear main seal should be installed as you have to pull the trans away from the engine.......place wil charge you 500+ for the job..or you can pull the engine.put in on an engine stand so it would be easier and less likely for a leak, and you could pull a rod bearing to check condition of the engine...
