Default I just bought a 1987 Mustang GT! What the hell did I just buy?!?!

Hello,

I have owned a 1990 GT and a 2002 GT. I have been without a Mustang for 3 years now and was going nuts. I got a great deal (maybe) on this one pictured below. It is in Chicago and I am in Baltimore. I have a friend out there that test drove it for me and I purchased it over the phone. I know, crazy. Anyway I am picking it up 1 week from today. It’s coming from an auction and there are no known details on what has been done to it. I know it’s hard but buy these pictures can you tell anything from it. Brakes? Cold Air says MOAOSO? Engine? How can I tell if the gears have been changed?

3 known issues I need to address (any quick links for me?):
a) one of the T-tops has a small leak.... of course it does, i know peoples sunroofs are known for that.
b) two of the speakers don’t work
c) auto door locks don’t work

Thanks! I am excited to be back but need to relearn everything.

The cold air intake is a Moroso. That looks like a clean car, how many miles?

That's not that many miles at all, if the car was maintained. It does look like it was taken care of. Congrats on the purchase, but it's gotta be alittle scary to buy that way. And if those three things you mentioned are all that's wrong with it, well then you got a great car. Good luck, looks nice.

Sounds like you have a couple of small electrical problems to deal with.
No big deal, after all the car is only 25 years old.....
It don't look it however.

Man that's probably one of the best looking Fox's that I've seen in a long time. Congrats!

I am guessing this comes with stock gears. But again I have no idea what has been done to this. What MPH and RPMs will I should be at if it is stock? Or is there another way to tell is the gears are stock. I have a 11 hour drive to get it home so I have plenty of time to waste. I probably will split my trip up in two days of 6 hour trips to not be to hard on her.

Easiest way for me to tell is 4th gear @ 40 mph should be 1500 rpm
