Default Temperature Gauge

Just purchased a 1989 GT and I have a quick question about the temperature gauge. All of the gauges on the dash work correctly except for the temperature gauge. I was wondering if anyone had some advice on what I should look for to fix it. Thanks in advance.

You can take a multimeter to the sending unit and check if its within spec. Do a search for that on here and it'll give you the readings it should have at certain temps. If you want to keep the stock crap that is. They aren't accurate as Duncan said.
