Default Tranny not centered

Ok so I finally got my clutch and flywheel. Got it all put into the car, now it's been about a month or so project. It's all back together, haven't started it yet due to the shifter looks off to me. It's not in the center of the hole. It's off to the right quite a bit. I can't get a picture on here. It all went together smooth, is there something wrong or am I worried for no reason?

if it all bolted up tranny to motor, driveshaft to tranny and crossmembers are tight that all you can do. the car twist and tweak alot. its good. you can loosen rear mount and set it down and c if it looks better just make sure its all tight when you drive off

Well I put it all back together and went to go around the block... It moved nicely about 10-15 mph it make a pop sound and every but 20 feet it did it again. I think something isn't lined up right and my u-joints are taking a beating? I mean where else could the knock/pop come from?

I think I'm gonna put some motor mounts in it see if that helps lining it up.. At a loss right now! Really wanted to start my break in on the new clutch!!

Did you loosen the motor mounts at all?

Possibly, I have aftermarket mounts on my car and had to nudge them alittle to get tranny and exhaust squared up. I'm not sure if stock mounts would be the same.

did you put it on stands and c where the noise was coming from? like let it idle in gear?

you might have to loosen your mounts and line it up with a bar then tighten it all up

Ok just drove it for about 18 miles stop and go no hard dumps or anything rough. No more knocking noise!! I got the ram hdx clutch from American muscle. It sounds like sandpaper, not to bad only in first and second. Is this normal for new clutch or is something wrong? Note new ford racing clutch cable, clutch fork, throwout bearing, pilot bearing and sr clutch quadrant with firewall adjustor. Clutch is adjusted to about 3" of the floor. Read that was normal.
