Default blower blowby

Hey guys,

I'm new to the forum and have a question. I have a 93 gt with a vortech s-trim 306. It is a new motor which has been dyno tunned and has about 50 miles on it. I am getting some blowby through my breather cap on my passanger side valve cover. It drips on my header and smokes out of my cowl hood. How can I resolve this problem? I do have my pcv valve connected. HELP!!!!!!!!!

thats normal, get a breather canister and run a hose from your valve cover and mount the canister under the car somewhere and you wont have anymore smokeing from under the hood.

Is it necessary with the blower to have the breather? If not than why not a regular closed cap. The increased pressure would then flow thru the PCV valve which can be separated from the intake with an oil separator. Just a thought. Don't know if its feasible.

Thanks. I thought the same with putting a regular cap on the valve cover then running a hose to a canister with a breather cap on it to help relieve more pressure. Or, buy taller valve covers with baffels in them and 2 breather caps and a 1" phenolic spacer for the intake to clear the valve covers. But I don't want to spend all that money (about $325) to have the same problem, only on both sides now. I just didn't want to blow any intake gaskets. I got tired of some people telling me "that's just how it is with supercharged cars". I'm going to try the canister and solid cap trick.

well my nabor had his motor built and it cost him a lof of money, and he has a breather on his and he asked his engine builder if he could put a cap back on it and he said no, it will make more pressure in the crank case and the car will burn more oil. he said that it could cause something to blow a headgasket or something like that because the greater amount of pressure. now im not to shure on this but if your pvc valve is hooked up like normal that would mean it is under pressure not vaccume.
