Default External Fuel Pump

I am putting a 5.0 in my wife's 66 Mustang, and I will be needing a fuel pump. I plan to install an inline pump as opposed to an in-tank unit. My 87 F150 has an inline pump. Would this part work in the Mustang? I know the F150 has two pumps, one in-tank and the inline one. Can I run the inline one on the Mustang without an in-tank pusher pump? I realize I will need to plumb in a return line. Here's a link to the pump I am talking about (on O'Reilly's website).

Best way to do it, in my opinion, is to sump the tank and run a line from the sump to the pump, then the filter, then up to the engine bay

OK, I may do that; are you saying that this pump will work correctly?

Thanks,

I haven't even heard of that brand before. Stick with a name brand

OK, I agree with the name brand. My basic question was, will the external pump from an 87 F150 work for the Mustang conversion, without the low pressure in-tank pump that the truck uses?

Yes, I can't see why it wouldn't work if you have a performance oriented fuel pump. Where are you going to mount it?
