Default posi rear end ?

I have an 89 lx with carbureted 306 and posi only works when turning left. I was wondering because I want to replace posi how to tell or maybe u guys know if isa 8.8 31 or 28 spline. it has a 4 lug wheel if that matters

pull a axle and count the spines. then you will know. if it is a stock rear it will be 28s

Ifs its a stock trac-loc just spend money on the clutches ~$70. Should be the same for 28 and 31 spline units.

where are u finding clutches for 70 dollars ? I found them on jegs for 100$

i was going to just buy the whole trac lock. how hard are the clutches to change?

they are not bad the worst part is the S spring other then that cake work to me anyway.

They use to be $69. Guess they have gone up. Been a few years since I bought a set.

$75 at 5.0 resto. Carbon discs are $108.

K Thanks I think ill attempt it. the guy I bought car from said it is original rear end 5.0 efi originally then 351 now 306 carbed with 351 on stand
