aode to c4 change.
Hi I am needing a new transmission for my stock 95 (5.0). It originally came with the aode tranny but I have heard more pros about the c4 as far as performance goes. I am just wondering if it is possible to inter change the two without any electrical adjustments.

If this is a daily driver. Going to a C-4 is a probably not best. You'll lose an extra gear (overdrive). If you are gonna go drag racing a lot the C-4 works well in racing applications. You'll have to change cross member, drive shaft , shift linkage , cooler lines. The flywheel counter weight must match your engine.
You will need to splice wires to hook up the neutral safety switch since the AOD & C-4 designs are different. You'll need to get a ratchet shifter and new shifter cable and forget about the PCM control for the transmission (I.E. Shift it yourself). It's not like you just unbolt one and bolt the other in it's place.
