1988 Mustang lx signal lights won't work

I have a 1988 mustang lx with a convertible top and the hazard lights and blinkers will not work i have replaced the flasher and still nothing. does any one have suggestions?

Fuses, bad connections in bulb sockets, multifunction switch (directional lever) ???

It's odd that both directionals and hazards don't work. I'd start at the fuse box.
