chasing oil leak
I need some guidance.
I recently put in a new clutch in my 1985 GT and the reason for failure was oil on the clutch. I assumed at the time that it was cause by 1 of 2 things...either the rear main seal or the oil was coming through the through-threaded holes on the crank. So while i had everything out i replaced the seal and put permatex #2 on the threads. So now about 2 months later i was under the car doing some exhaust work and noticed oil on the bottom of the plate between the bellhousing and the block. I took off the inspection cover on the side of the bellhousing and there is oil all over the place. I think the oil is coming from above the bellhousing somewhere and draining down because the tranny is all oil and I remember seeing some oil near the top-end when i had the tranny out, but dismissed it because the motor was/is pretty old and dirty. So without droping the transmission to investigate does anyone have any ideas on what's going on?... Is it typical of a certain type of leak? Also, oddly the clutch is still grabbing great, but If i don't take care of the oil I assume it will fail again, or maybe its too late for this clutch too.
Sorry for the long post. Thanks for the help.

RE: chasing oil leak
I talked to a friend and he mentioned the back of the intake manifold as being a problem area for leaks. Is this a pretty classic place to have problem? I think that must be it but while I have the top end apart i will probly do the rocker cover gaskets too. Any recommendations on what brand or type to use? I usually go with fel-pro.
Thanks for all the help.
P.S. Do you think i can save the oiled clutch? anything i can do short of replacing it?

RE: chasing oil leak
You know where you got them? I can't seem to find any. Fel-pro only had cork ones on their web site and ford racing had cork ones as well. Also, the rocker cover gaskets are perfect so i was wondering if i need to take them off to get the intake off? If i don't it would be great.
