So I recently bought a 95 Mustang 5.0 with a 5 speed at a public auction. When I got it, it wasn't running due to a bad fuel pump. Now I've already replaced the fuel pump and it's runs now but rough and shuts off sometimes however If i keep my foot off the gas then it's fine. I did notice that a cable that goes to the throttle is broken. Could this be the issue? If not then what?

That cable I believe is for the cruise control. Have you checked your timing with the pip disconnected or check any of your ignition pieces. Plugs, cap,rotor, pickup and tfi module.

That is the cruise control cable. No worries there.

Auction cars = new plugs , wires , air cleaner, fuel filter.
Clean MAF , check for dtc codes.
