Below is my first car that I owned. It was a 87' GT that I bought back in 87'.
It made the readers roundup section of mustang magazine in 89'. W/ the mods listed below how much hp & tq do you fox guys think I was making?

like..20 more than stock, would be a real nice car and pretty quick, but not much power upgrades... pulelys chip and air intake right

That's about right. Maybe a little more, but no more than 30hp. But overall, that sounds like a badass car. It maintains a level of balance between performace and drivability. I would leave it the way it is. Keep it sort of stock.

I also had the off road exhaust and I went from a stock 2:73 rear to a 3:27. From what I understand every jump in the rear = 20hp, so an additional 40hp should be "sort" of counted, no?
The car was fast as hell for the time, I used to take Vettes from behind and even beat a Grand National light to light one day. That was a good night!! lol

P.S. that cpu chip was the first one offered for the 87'+ generation GT Fox body. It was sold at only 3 dealerships in the country(one in NJ, TX & CA) and even had a switch you mount on the dash to activate/deactivate.

Gears do not gain you any HP.

yea gears are a torque multiplier, bet they make i big diff.

Not actual hp figures on a dyno, but they equate to hp gains or more so torque than hp. So my 5.0 rated at say 255hp w/ 3:27's could equal the acceleration / power of one w/ 295hp and 2:73's. I remember a rule of thumb 20hp equivalent power gain per gear change.
