I few months ago I changed out my tranny after i did a few weeks later it would start dropping into a lower gear or kicking into overdrive. I would be going say 45 miles a hour then it would change gear and rpm would go up then it would drop back down into gear and work fine. This is a automatic tranny. Also whenever give a certain amount of gas i would hear valve tapping noise from the engine like when your driveing a standard and you put it into wrong gear and the engine strains. I was thinking it might be the torque converter? your help is appreciated. Oh it's a 1995 mustang gt convertible with that beautiful 302.

I had a similar problem with a c4 behind a 351, for me it ended up being loose torque converter bolts.
