Default What temperature thermostat do you guys run?

I have a small coolant leak around the thermostat housing, so I figured while I pull it off to replace the gasket, replace the thermostat while it's apart.

Do you guys run stock temp, or the 160?

Stock is best unless you have issues with overheating and you're trying to increase your margin. Tests I've seen show the 5.0 makes slightly more power around 200 degrees (though they like the intake cold!).

I recommend running the 180° thermostat. I've run the 160° on a 5.0 years ago and it was overdoing it.

The 5.0 makes its best HP when coolant temp is 160-180° I have read but I don't remember the source.

I am running a 180° thermostat with a 3 row aluminum radiator and supercharged.

180* and drill a small hole on the thermostat to reduce warm up pressure on your cooling system saving you lots of money later.
