Default 1.7 rockers

Do 1.7 roller rockers need a tune? I am trying to get around 200 rwhp without spending too much money. Trying to save up for a built engine but want some fun along the way.

No they don't require a tune.

I second, no tune required. One of my early mods, and you will note the difference.

I don't think after market roller rockers will fit. You'll have to research this but I think the stamped 1.7 rockers from a 351 motor will clear. They should be a lot cheaper also.

I originally used Crane Cobra 1.7 roller rockers, and more recently comp ultra gold 1.7 roller rockers, both under the factory valve covers - which I still use. I had to remove the oil baffle to fit the Crane Cobras, and had to grind a little bit to clear the ultra golds, but they fit.

Did removing the oil baffle do anything besides give clearance?

I never had an issue after removing the oil baffle, but I've read other people complaining about it.

So the worse thing that can happen is I need to buy a set of valve covers?
