How can you remove the air silencer? doesnt tht hold the air filter.

Hey. Well if im not mistaken you have to remove the filter box first then there are the 4 bolts I think that hold it on.

ok thx wat does tht do for the car? sound deeper? any added horsepower?

i think a few hp (like 1-3) and i hear its supposed to sound different. mine was already removed and i have exhaust so i dont know the sound diff.

Yeah when i took mine off i didnt hear a difference. Little power gain.

is the air silencer in the air box or underneath it?

behinde it in the fender i think. like it extends into the car fender.

Yes, if you look under that fenderwell lining (the big peice of plastic in your fenders you can see the air silencer. It's a big peice of black plastic.

basically ford did this to get colder air out of the fender well... removing just makes it so that it has more air to breath which = HP.... by not much... you can hear a difference and plus it is free. SO why not?
