I was coming up to an intersection today and was in 4th and pushed in the clutch and came to a stop and then tried to mover it out of fourth and it wouldnt come out. does anyone know what the problem would be, if it is a shifter pin or what. PLEASE HELP.thanks

if you have an aftermarket shifter, the bolts might have rattles loose and is keeping the shift lever in gear. I really don't know what else it could be though

Sounds Like you may have a failed Synchro in your trans. better get that checked!

If you can pull it out of gear when it's shut off then you can rule out most of it. If you can't then i'd look at the shifter as the most likely culprit or a synchro just got trashed. Did you hear anything right before it happened, any grinding, excessive whinning?

there was no loud noise at all i pulled up to the light and it wouldnt come out of gear. it has a stock shifter, and i cant get the car out of gear with the car on or off. it wont release at all.

sounds like synchro is gone, and trans may be shot too. if you buy new one, spend the extra cash if you got it and get a tremec tko600, you'll need a new clutch, and have to reposition your crossmember. Not hard install at all. call D&D performance at 1-248-735-6220. They have the best deals. Got a McLeod clutch and the trans for $2100 shipped. VERY worth it. They are virtually unbreakable. If you dont have that kind of money, then its almost always cheaper to buy a new world class t-5 from them, rather than having yours rebuilt. they are really pricey to rebuild. You can buy a wc t-5 around $1000. and you dont have to change your clutch.
