throttle stops before fully open
After noticing a clanking sound when ever i press the gas pedal down, i looked and noticed the AOD kickdown rod is hitting my exhaust, I have a CFI car ( i know yuck, but its what i got) so along w/ hitting the exhaust it is keeping the Valve body from opening all the way. I just installed the exhaust w/ in the last 2 weeks.
I was wondering if i could cut the excess of the rod off there's about an inch and a quarter excess,( this would only be a temp fix. so i can drive the car.
Now for the more permanet fix could i use the Lokar AOD kickdown kit w/ the CFI unit. And would i need the bracket spring kit.
Thanx for any help, im turning 16 on wed. and can get my liscence w/ in the next week. so im hoping to be able to drive the car soon
