crossmembers are tac welded in different spots for t-5 vs aod and aod's have slightly longer driveshafts

What manual trans is in the v6 mustangs and would that work because there's more then enough of those around me for 800 or less that I could buy replace parts then scrap or do some cheap fix and sell or part out if I had to

I read all I could find on this site and found no mention of driveshaft length being different. There's a place in Rockford (near me) that will cut/balance for $150. This entire T5 set-up will be for sale after the swap is complete. We could talk then, if you want to stay in touch.

This was all out of 1985 5.0 and was told it was the H.O. by the firing order.

The sn95 v6 T5 transmissions are pretty good transmissions, if you can get one from a 99+ even better. But you still need a V8 bell housing because the V6 starter is in a slightly different location and the bell will not work.

That I couldn't tell you. I never had an automatic mustang.

I'm also trying to find somewhere in Central Wisconsin that I can get my top replaced as having duct tape and clear window vinyl is very annoying to me
A lot of upholstery shops repair and replace convertible tops. You could prob ask a few dealers who they use.
