Broke fuel pressure gauge off at rail
I was looking into diagnosing an intermittent hard start issue on the car and hooked up a new BBK gauge. I ended up over tightening the piece as it leaked, and it broke off flush with the fuel rail.
1. Is possible to tap out the broken piece while on the car or will that result in metal in the rail?
2. If I need to remove the rail, should I then try to tap it or replace with a used piece? If used, will any Mustang 5.0 rail work?
Thanks.

Depending on how hard you overtightened it, you could try a small easy-out first, no drilling required. But if you really cranked it tight, I doubt that will work.
Drilling a larger hole for a bigger easy-out will leave metal shavings in the rail, which I don't think you'll get 100% clean again. Of course, I've done dumber things if you want to try it.
I vote for another used fuel rail for peace of mind. Any 5.0 rail should work. Good luck
