Default 347 killing me

I have a 1993 gt with a 347 stroker in it. The block is a 1974 block out of a bronco 40 over. Edlebrock 75 mm throttle body trick flow street burner intake and 42lbs injectors stock fuel rails for now. Edlebrock performer heads using comp cams 1.6 roller rockers , comp cams link bar lifters and a ford roller e cam. MSD 6AL, MSD TFI coil and MSD pro billet distributor. Melling high volume oil pump ARP rod Canton main stud girdle and windage tray and Canton 7qt pan with pick up. Feed by a walbro 190 fuel pump
*What I need to know is what firing order to use and where should I set the timing.
*What I should do for a tune get a chip burned or do I need to take it and spend $$$$$$ to get it dyno tuned

the car is for cruising
5 speed tko
410 gears
Looking for any knowledge to help get it ready for this spring

Thanks
Jason

Your cam determines the firing order, which is the standard 5.0 HO firing order. Factory base timing is 10 degrees, most people run a little more, say 14 degrees. Anywhere close and it will run. Dyno tune is recommended, and they will "burn" a chip as part of that normally. You should be able to drive it on the factory tune (if the MA and injectors match) - on my 369, it ran fine, but the dyno tune did add 20 hp to the total. The factory fuel rails will handle more fuel than your 190 lph fuel pump can put out. The 410 gears sound like a bit much for the street with that 347.

I had a got a new in the box e cam off of craigslist for $50 just had a baby$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ moved to a new house & got knee reconstruction surgery all with in the last 7 months and have been out of work for 3 months now and estimated 3 more months of rehab be for I can go back. So a $300+ custom cam has got to get put on hold. But if u got an off the shelf cam suggestion hit me up with it.

Jason and MJR, I was wondering if i could step in and basically ask the same sort of question. We just purchased a 347 stroker motor (and a 67 mustang) and the guy said it had a 303 cam, I guess an E303 cam. All the reading I've done have the same negative comments about the cam. We are putting it in a 65' fastback and we want it right. We are fabricators, welders and restoration guys not motor and rebuilder guys. On the top of the cast iron head it said 351 and the letters WF along with a 2K5 and another letter T. It has a nice intake and a Holley 750 and roller rockers. What cam is recommended. I want to put in the right cam before we install in Mustang. Oh, it has all the MSD stuff as well. HELP

There are a lot of different 303 cams all have a different letter designation and specs. Here's a link to all the different specs. http://www.fordracingparts.com/download/charts/85.pdf But doing the cam right first you have to know how the car will be mainly used. A street car will want different cams specs compared to the radical cam that's in my track only car. If you can afford a custom grind cam, that's the way to go.
