it is a 8582 model...i had the weld grinded off and installed the advance bushing kit and so far its working pretty good...might just end up replacing it with a ready to run model eventually...i hate the having soooo many wires from the summit ignition box.

You realize the 8582 is for a flat tappet cam as it has a cast iron gear and the 8598 is for a roller cam as it has a steel gear..........better replace the gear or expect premature failure of the dizzy gear

didnt know that...thnx for the info...just the gear or the whole dist.?

i just got some longtubes for the headers and a new victor jr. coming in next month.

maybe that will help the ponies breathe a bit better.

have shorty headers and weind intake on it now.

also having an issue with rear end hopping on take off and extreme acceleration...u think traction bars would help?

get some better upper and lower control arms and I'd get adjustables so as to set pinion angle....also just replace the gear...I think the distributors are the same except for the gear but I'd call msd to make sure
