Hey everyone, I'm new to this forum And I've got a quick question. I've got an 87' lx t top and the person i got it from was going to make it in to a "drag car".......pretty much he just chopped up a bunch of wires and took crap apart everywhere. What i want to know is the DASH harness the same from 87 to 89 regardless of what motor, trans, etc. I know from 89 to 90 everything was changed just a little so i would assume they are different. Thanks for yalls responses.

I'd think the harnesses should be the same for all 5.0s. 4 cyl. may be different.

Id say they are the same. I know the one in my 93 had wires and fuses for a convertible top in it, and the car's a hatchback. The other harnesses on the car are more than likely different though. Also as you pointed out the 90-93 cars had airbags and the 89 has mass air unlike the 87 and 88. I dont think that would be an issue though. To be honest the airbag wiring probably wouldnt make much difference either.

I converted my 89 from a 4 cylinder to a 5.0, and the dash harness was the same for both cars (using an 89 5.0 donor car). That said, every other wiring harness was different, and had to be changed to the 5.0 harnesses.
