when i bought the car it had 3.73's so when i got a tuneup he said he could put in a new speedo gear from ford. so we got it put in and i think its still off by like 15 mph maybe.

You could always remember how much it's off or mark some spots on your dial. For instance, if you're geared for a 2.73 differential, your speed reading will always be 26.81% low. So when you're showing 55, you'll be running 40.25. When you're showing 75, you'll be running 54.89 (almost 55) and so forth. Check out the chart below for an idea. It's all simple math.

-------------------Gear----------------------
-------------2.73-------3.73----------------
--------------------MPH----------------------
Actual----------Reading------------% Low
5------------5-----------3.66--------26.81%
10----------10----------7.32--------26.81%
15----------15----------10.98-------26.81%
20----------20----------14.64-------26.81%
25----------25----------18.30-------26.81%
30----------30----------21.96-------26.81%
35----------35----------25.62-------26.81%
40----------40----------29.28-------26.81%
45----------45----------32.94-------26.81%
50----------50----------36.60-------26.81%
55----------55----------40.25-------26.81%
60----------60----------43.91-------26.81%
65----------65----------47.57-------26.81%
70----------70----------51.23-------26.81%
75----------75----------54.89-------26.81%
80----------80----------58.55-------26.81%
85----------85----------62.21-------26.81%
90----------90----------65.87-------26.81%
95----------95----------69.53-------26.81%
100--------100---------73.19-------26.81%
105--------105---------76.85-------26.81%
110--------110---------80.51-------26.81%
115--------115---------84.17-------26.81%
120--------120---------87.83-------26.81%

130--------130---------95.15-------26.81%

Here is a post on which gear for what.

https://mustangforums.com/m_201146/tm.htm

You can get a 23 tooth gear gear from this site as well as others. It's close to the bottom.

http://www.transmissioncenter.net/sp...n_______va.htm

thats still not the right one......good sit, but wrong part, because the pitch of the gear is different for an aod. just because it says aod, it is for a t5
it will wear out after 10k or less, and still be off
and that is for a 7t drive gear an aod is 8t

w/ an 8t you need a 25 tooth, that no one makes, and a 23 t is abit too much anyways even for a t5

something like a 6t drive and 20 t driven would work great
