You will definitly need a new trans, if you don't want to stick with an auto this may be a good time to swap to a manual trans.

Your 7.5 rear end will be fine for now. You may have to get a new drive shaft but I'm not 100% sure on that.

I am not sure if you will need the V-8 K-Member or if you can just use the V8 motor mounts? Transmission should be a T-5 manual trans. from a V8 mustang (later model perfered),double hump trans. cross member, drive shaft should be the same, and your 7.5 rear will work for now.But a better up-grade would be the 8.8 rear w/posi unit. Good Luck!!

I would say keep the capri for parts and keep on lookin out for a totaled stang or one without and engine or anything to biuld on. Mine was totaled off I did some bod work got the frame straightened and it passed inspections cheap and I bought it for dirt cheap. Just thinking of the huge headache all the coversions stuff id going to be for ya. Plus mustangs look just a lil better i my opinion

Just an opinion, I'd say keep the Capri.
Bodystyle is just different enough from mustang and definitely cool.
Plus way rarer than a mustang body, and anything mustang will probably fit.
