If i was to sell this, how much would i get or ask for?
Im rebuilding my 94 cobra engine and i was wondering what a rebuilt short block with an after market cam (Bout 104$ for the cam no biggie but still a perfm part) and forged pistons along with a total rebuild would fetch me since its a real cobra block. I need some funds to buy a 347 shortblock (WAY to expensive to have mine bored out) and was wondering what its worth. thank you

What do you mean by real Cobra block? It's the same block as a GT, the differences are in the headers, intake etc. and of course the few cosmetic differences. I would guess $3000. Don't rely on that though im not much for pricing blocks, and rebuild not my area of expertise.

I would never pay 3000 for a used shortblock. You can get a DSS 331 Pro-Bullet short block w/ a main support system, fully forged, painted, race prepped, cnc'd, the whole 9 for like 3 g's. I couldnt tell you how much its worth but I would pay more than 1 grand for it. But I'm cheap

700 with the forged pistons and a camshaft rebuild? IDK it only had 79k on it before the rebuild and i wasnt picturing something as high as 3000 for it either. I always thought that if something came off a cobra it was worth a little bit more then a gt, but i was hoping to fetch at least 1000-1500 for it.

so you want a cookie cause its a cobra part? heres a little thing to remember once you mod a cobra it loses its orgin. it may still look like a cobra but none of its parts are cobra so then whats the point of having a cobra? if you had plans to mod a 5.0 cobra you should of just bought a GT or in GTS for the sn95 bodies. cause once you mod that motor, thats it cant no longer claim cobra motor. it becomes a modded 5.0
and a shortblock is only worht about 700 bucks. now a long block is different. honestly if you got 1000 to 1500 for it i would be highly suprised

Very good point. I might just keep it then, of course mod it but keep it to hold me over till i save up for the short block 347 i want. and hells yes i want a cookie.

WHy dont you just take that shortblock to the machine shop and get it stroked to a 347? If you buy anything you are just spending money to buy the exact same thing as what you have minus the internals. I am getting my 302 Bored .30 over to a 306 full balanced hot tanks decked the whole 9 including assembly with Forged Crank and pistons for 2500 Candian. Just do your research on the machine shop first, mostly all of them are pretty good guys.

^^^^ see the problem with stock blocks is if you want serious power stock block is weak. but for a nice car you can use the stock b lock
