Default Blew my rear end :(

Driving home, take the last turn about a block away and "clunk" "hop" and it dies, start it back up and same thing happens as i get home.

Guessing the rear locked up and forced the engine off, thankfully the tranny seems fine (t5)
What is it that usually goes bad in these crappy 7.5s? Anything i can replace relatively easily to get me on the road again?

It still has the 7.5 (84 gt, t5) and cant find a 7.5 or 8.8 in decent shape for the life of me, waiting to hear back from a local rear end/performance diff/gear shop on what they have for me. Its my daily so im hoping its quick....

Anyone in MN wanna sell me their rearend

You can't find a Fox 8.8 anywhere ??? There's at least one on Craigslist at any time around me. Definitely don't waste your time and money on any 7.5 you find, not worth it. Wait for an 8.8 if you can.

Where in MN are you, I'll find you one lol. Good luck

If it's from a mid 80's, and with 5 lug axles, it's probably not for a Foxbody. More than likely from a full size Ford something .

Don't worry, I'm on it.......lol

The 94-98 mustangs use the exact same housing as the fox mustangs. Just swp over your axles and brakes.

Yep, your right, not much over there. I found one closer to me, all stock, in Antigo Wi. But that's a 3 hr drive for you.

I'll keep looking and post back if I come across anything.

If your in a pinch, and this is for your dd, $50 bucks for another 7.5 may hold you over till you find an 8.8.

Would it matter if the sn95 8.8 has ABS? Im assuming the only difference is the brakes which would get replaced with my drums/axles.

I might do this...Was planning on getting an 8.8 next year and Id rather not rush it and do it right the first time. Would I need to swap anything over? Id probably switch over brake hardware depending on the condition of this one but will axles need to be swapped? Anyway I can check for condition before buying, or should I just crack er open and spin the axle a couple times?
