Ignition switch question

Default Ignition switch question
When I start my 91 5.0 there is a whining sound that i hear in the dashboard. Once the engine fires up and I let go of the key the noise goes away. At first i thought it was coming from the starter but it is definitely from in the dashboard area.

Any thoughts?

maybe the door chime is to the point where it is almost dead/making wierd noises??
