Clear codes on '94 sn95

overheated (i think bad therm) removed it and now only gets up to 110 degrees in 10 mile drive!
BUT can't shut off check eng lite and cooling fan runs all the time.
Been to 3 different places but code scanner won't work in OBD2 plug and we tried OBD1 plug under hood that has a RED cover that says "ANTI-LOCK TEST PLUG"
Tried disconnect battery overnight to no use!
HELP
Thanks

well... you should probably try using the right diagnostic port.

its behind the passenger front shock tower, labeled EEC TEST

Thanks so much!!!
I'm so dumb when it comes to computer cars (I'm a old school guy (64 yrs))
I want a carb, points/condensor, big cam and NO COMPUTER!
I will try to clear it with jumper wire as shown in Chiltons?
Thanks

C'mon man leave the red covers alone.

Like was previously mentioned, the OBD1 port is under the hood between the firewall and the strut tower on the passenger side. There is NO red cover on it saying anything about anti theft. It's a plain gray 7 pin connector. You're going to need 2 people or the extension cord so you can read the codes while the other person fiddles with the keys. It's a simple gray connector with NO RED COOVER ON IT.
