Default Will a stock hood fit

I have a 93 that has been converted to carb. I want to put a stock hood on it. Does anyone know if it will fit? Motor is a 302 with a edelbrock Thunder series carb. It looks like there is a spacer between the carb and motor.

Does not look like it, but why would you want a stock hood anyways?

Well for right now because of money. But I just didn't like the 4" cowl that I had. It's just not my style. I might look at a cobra R style hood though.

4" is too big IMO. I have a 3"...........hood that is......lol it's good, but I would rather have the 2.5 or 1.5.

Yeah for a drag racer it would be fine, but I am more into driving on twisty back roads. I couldn't see very well over that 4" cowl.

Yeah the 4 in is too big. We put one on my brother's car and you cant see over it. Ive got a 2.5" one and I can see over it just fine.

One thing you can do is try taking the carb spacer out or running a shorter air filter.

no it will not fit..............get a drop base air cleaner assembly and a low profile 2/2.5 inch element then it will...this was my 92 with such set up = stock hood

This may sound a little crazy, but, get some modeling clay(play dough) put it on the underside of the hood where you expect issues and gently close, will give you an idea of what clearance you will have or need to get. That's how we do landing gear clearance checks on jets

Thanks guys. I didn't think it would fit but was hoping it would. I did see those drop base air filter assembly's as I was searching last night. I'll probably go that route.

Well I got it to fit. There was a spacer between the carb and the motor that I removed and it for perfect. My air cleaner actually had a drop already.
