Default RE: question

i was told by a local performance shop that if you put an aftermarket cam into a 5.0 you have to replace the roller rockers since the stock are press in and the cam will pull them out. they told me that i would have to get threaded studs. i am not sure if that is true but thats what i was told. e303 is the most common among mustang owners and is what i will be putting in my motor when i rebuild it.

yes the ford e303 cam will fit in you stock motor with a stock intake....and everything will work just fine...i have been running mine like that for about 6 months then i up graded my intake to a cobra...and i have been running that for about 8 months now and not a problem one out of it...me personally i would not go any bigger a .512 lift on a stock motor...that is just me...i think a stock motor can take up to .520..like i said i think thats right....but e cam is a sure thing...you will notice a big difference with that cam..

I had an e cam in my last motor. You dont need screw in studs. Your stock components will work fine.

That's right, and stock heads don't flow well over .5" lift, anyways. E7 heads are pedestal mounts, not stud, so don't worry bout that issue.

The e0cam will work fine on your car. as you already have GT 40 heads and 1.7 rr's. I'd have the heads ported as well as your Cobra lower to see real gains with the cam cahnge.
