Default Help! Scraping noise

First of all I would like to say hello to everyone, I recently got a 1995 GT Vert and I love it. I do have a question I was hoping you all could help me with, whenever I have a person in the back seat or something slightly heavy the car makes a scraping noise though 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears. It sounds like the driveshaft it scraping on the bottom of the car, anywayI thinkit may need new engine mounts(88,000 miles), would that be the cause of this noise? Do you have any other ideas and/orpossible solutions to this? I greatly appreciate any and allinput. Thanksand Merry Christmas!</P>

OK thanks I will check, has anyone else experienced this problem? I am thinking it is the motor mounts...

Could be motor or tranny mounts, or just suspension if it only happens when people are in the back. The best solution is to not put anyone back there! I prefer to drive on my own anyway, but it still sounds wierd to me. I've never really heard of that happening. </P>

Wait a minute, I read what I wrote and I def dont think its the motor mounts. If they were going the motor would be sunk a little bit creating more leeway between the driveshaft and the underbody. So you might be able to rule them out, but check stuff anyway. If you can't find anything, take it to a good place. But continue to ask around the forum, someone will know.</P><edited><editID>95Stealth302</editID><editDate>37980.757662037</editDate></edited>

I appreciate the info, thanks! I usually prefer to drive on my own as well but I have been moving lately so I have had to transport items in the back, this is how I noticed it.Do you think it could be just one of the monuts making it sit slightlylop-sided?

your rear springs/shocks could be warn out and that makes the car sag and the driveshaft could be scraping cause of that.

Any ideas on how much it would cost to replace?
