Default spring install step by step

Ohsoquik: front...here it goes
Ohsoquik: raise car up and remove front wheel. support car either at sub frame or kmember. disconnect the sway bar end links and then remove the 2 caliber bolts and tie up the caliber so it doesnt hang down and stretch the brake line. now put your floor jack under the A arm as far as possible to the hub as you can. now slowly raise this up to you get some tension on the spring. now remove the 2 strut bolts to the spindle. now be careful. now make sure no body is in front of this spring. slowly lower the jack downward stand off to the side of the car. lower jack to it bottoms out. chances are you arent fully extending the A arm yet. now make sure no body is around or anything that can possibly get damaged. wiggle jack out from under the A arm.
Ohsoquik: the arm should force down. now you need to break the seat of the spring. use a pry bar and stand to the side of the car again and pry on the spring some and easy just enough to kick out the lower part ofthe spring. once it kicks youre fine. just grab the spring and now set it aside
Ohsoquik: now install the C springs in the location and raise it up some to you can get the jack under the A arm. now raise it slowly to you seat the spring. once you seat it take it up to you can reattach the strut to the spindle. then tighten up the strut bolts. then mount the caliber and finally attach the swaybar end links again. put wheel back on and youre set...do other side the same way
Ohsoquik: now for rear.......
Ohsoquik: jack up the car and support it by the sub frame
Ohsoquik: remove both wheels one at a time here
Ohsoquik: remove the sway bar totally
Ohsoquik: now also also support the rear end with jack stands
Ohsoquik: dont have the rear to far up in the body just at a reasonable height
Ohsoquik: i think its 3/4 socket and wrench for the bolts.
Ohsoquik: loosen the rear control arm bolts that attach to the rear end housing
Ohsoquik: now put a jack under the lower control arm and justhave it snug so it doesnt force it self down.
Ohsoquik: remove the bolt you may have to pry it out some but its normal.
Ohsoquik: once bolt is out slowly lower the jack and do it cautiously
Ohsoquik: its the same ordeal as the front
Ohsoquik: once the jack bottoms out now wiggle the jack out from under the control arm
Ohsoquik: spring should break its seat
Ohsoquik: nwo just reach in there and pull out the spring
Ohsoquik: reinstall new spring and raise control up to the spring seats again
Ohsoquik: but the rear had already walked alway from allignment. this is normal and just needs to be moved back in place
Ohsoquik: it can be moved a few ways.. straps, ppl pushing on it or anything that can reel it back into the spot. once you get the arm back in the slot for the arm slide the bolt in and tighten it up
Ohsoquik: then do the other side the same way.
Ohsoquik: once done reattach the sway bar and put wheels on
Ohsoquik: front may or may not need aligned
Ohsoquik: also after a few days the car will settle alot more then right as you put the springs in. its normal
Ohsoquik: this can be done very safely
Ohsoquik: ive done springs numberous times and never had any fly out from under my car. each time ive done them this way. now if yo uwere to reinstall stock springs up front you would need a spring compressor but lowering springs dont need one

nah for the rear you dont havet o loosen teh control arm bolts.. all you have to do it take the quadshock off and the shock itself. and the spring should just fall out.

from my experiences and ive done quite a bit of stangs. actually 2 stangs with many spring setups. this is how i did and never had any issues and it only takes me a few minutes to change springs

this also works on other cars with coil springs on the rear.
