RE: top speed
In theory, the top speed for your car is much higher than your engine can pull with that amount of HP and type of transmission.
It's that 5th that'll get ya... it's so high.
A 6 spd is what you need for a really high top speed.
My guess is you will hit 135 -145 mph, but it will take a while to hit it so you better have a good stretch to do it in... or try downhill.

RE: top speed
Yea and take it from someone who went 120 for his first time and almost got more then i bargained for...you do NOT stop like if you were doing 80 and wanted to slow down, you REALLY need a LOT LOT of stopping distance. Like tap the breaks with force and gradually stop, dont pump the breaks. Your e-Brake will also help but dont use it to much or youll spin the back end out.....doiung 120. remeber when your going that fast your car really doesnt wanna stay on the ground either so dont hit ANY thing thats on the road as well. you BEST situation right now is to do it at like 12-3 am on a LONG high way with a VERY good radar detector. Drive up and down it first just to c if you see any cops then turn around and go down the same stretch of road and find out your top speed. I gotta tell you this is really unsafe but ill admit its part of seeing what your mods can do so be safe. and remember when you see 120 mph on the speedo, tell it i said hi, havent seen it in a while have fun

STock 5.0's 138 is the top speed with the mod u have i bet 145 but u dont know b/c ur speedo only goes to 140. But ya hit up a highway with a good radar dectector and drive up and down some times. Need a really long and somwhat striaght strecth of road.

RE: top speed
Yeah dont use your e-brake for your primary stopping because it is mechanical... a hydraulic system will distribute pressure equally, the chances of your cables being equally adjusted are slim to none, so one wheel will grab first, and when the other grabs this will grab a bit harder, so it will slow more than the other and youll wind up in a tree... thats why its called an EMERGENCY brake lol
