Default Running lights and headlights do not work.

Hi eveybody.

I have searched online on how to fix my headlights and no luck. I am hoping go get help here.

I have a 1988 GT. In the past my headlights would have issues and randomly flicker. I replaced the headlight bulb with a bulb with less output watts and that solved the issue. Over time, my lights started to flicker again with just the low beams and eventually shut off. High did not work. I would have to hold the multi function switch on the flash to pass position to maintain the lights while driving at night. Eventually my lights would not even turn on, not even with the multi function switch. So I thought I burnt the headlight and multi function switch and replaced them both. Still my lights will not turn on to include my running lights. Also my left blinker doesn't work but my right one does. I have done the obvious like check the bulbs and fuses, everything is good. I would like to drive my car at night again. Any help is appreciated.

Thank you

My guess is that the main plug in the dash is burnt. Its common problem on foxbodys

Is this the plug you're talking about?

if the car has fog lights, sounds like they may be the root cause to all the probs, common they burnt up connectors an fuse box inside the car

I just tested a few areas. Im getting 12vdc at the multifunction switch from both red and black wires for low beam and green black for flash to pass. When i connect the multimeter at the headlight bulb connection i am drawing nothing, keep in mind the headlight switch is completely on. Is there something that i am missing. I am suspecting a open somewhere..

Hope's this helps if anybody comes across it. This ended up being a grounding issues. Also, i found a connector that wasn't fully seated, I can't remember which one, i just remember it was in the engine bay. basically, start out by checking out all your connections and grounds.
