Default 3.73s and posi or full performence exhaust?

OK my FULLY STOCK 1990 lx is too damn slow for me rite now. i have been lookin for BBK 1 5/8 headers, bbk o/r h pipe, and pypes catback system for about 1 month. but i have recently decided tht maybe i should get posi and 3.73s put in for a first major mod. what do you guys think i shoud do.

Well I just put my 373s in today and wow did they ever wake it up. You are going to feel more if you put in gears than exhaust. You dont really need to put posi, ford has a limited slip called Traktion-Lok and you could jus get that rebuild and works pretty good.

but see i have an lx so its only a one wheel wonder if ya know wat i am sayin. only one wheel has power. so if i put in posi then i have more power rite?

Not really you will hookup better on the ground and lose gasmileage but ya i know what you meam i got 91 Lx know how feel get gears and posi b/c then if you race everyone is gona think you are stock and ur gonna blow them away

I don't know what 5.0coupe has been thought but the posi will not make you lose gas milage the gears will. I have a limited slip, 31 spline axles, with 3.73 gears and I love them the only thing that I don't like is the gas milage. i would go with 3.55's the are a real good meduim they give you a kick in the pants but don't burn as much gas as the 3.73's. Now when you say posi are you going straight up posi or a limited slip. A straight up posi will make the car bounceor hope as you turn a corner be cause both wheels are always turning at the same time no matter what. If you go with a limited slip then you'll be able to do the turns with out the hop but when you lay in it both wheel will hook up and make that bad boy go. Good luck.

If its going to be a street car do not get a posi unit. go with a limited slip. ive heard that powertrax makes some really good units and they are very reputable also. chech them out and see what you think.

o i thought limited slip and posi were the same thing. i want the limited slip. will tht give me more take off power or should i save the extra $150 and keep wat i got.

i dunno i did BBK longtubes,BBk off road hpipe and flowmaster mufflers it sounds really good and gave my car a lot more power(but my 85mustang had fakedaul exhast and the pipes where crinkle bent(stoke exhast). i think the BBK headers give a 5.0 around 25 plus HP

but i also did 410s and and Eaton posi
the Eaton is a really good posi, i wouldnt recomend 410s due to the fact that i went from getting 21mpg to 17mpg but they made a huge difference. 355s or 373s are good
