Default 1982 Mustang GT fuel system

Hi Guys...I restored a 1982 GT a few years back and it has been sitting for about 4 years. I have a problem with the original carb emptying out the fuel bowl thru the venturis and flooding..I have put a new rebuild kit in it and the power valve, needle and seat, accel pump, and float are all good..Im assuming that the ethanol fuel that has set in the take for awhile is to blame or there is a crack in the body of the carb...anyway I have a NOS carb coming for the car and will be taking the fuel tank down for a cleaning...My question after all that is the fuel lines from the tank to the pump are bound to be rusty/varnished and needs replaced, it there any reason that neoprene hose cant be used and ran along side of the existing steel lines?...also is there a solution in carb rebuild parts that allow for use of ethanol fuel? thanks

id check out www.50resto.com and buy new lines and a tank. having owned tons of classic cars nothing is more aggravating than a failing fuel system. but a new tank lines etc and be done with it...also check www.rockauto.com for a tank

Neoprene's fine. It's much more affordable than buying the pre-bent stuff, and it won't rust like steel lines.

New lines front to back get my vote also. It sounds like you've stuck some money into this car already so a little more to make it right might not be a bad idea.

It'll definitely be a little more work, but piece of mind is worth something too.

Good luck in whatever you decide.
