Default Clutch cable help please...

I was drivin along with my buddy in the passenger seat when I realized I couldn't shift into 1st gear no matter what i did... any gear at that. Then after letting out the clutch and putting it back in, i heard the snap and the tip of my clutch cable went to my feet...

My clutch pedal has always been very stiff and I just got used to it, then the cable snapped... Is this a hard fix or should I just take it to a transmission place? Also should I ask if they can lesson the tension? I don't know why my clutch has always been so stiff (short cable maybe?)

Anyway thanks for the help if you can.

I would replace the cable yourself! It's an easy fix and should only take about 15 min.!

I didn't want to mess with it, so I took it to my local transmission place and they put in the new cable, quadrant which was broke, and changed the tranny oil from motor oil to auto tranny oil.. for 210 bucks....

I learned that on some of the T5's, even if youve got a manual, you still use auto tranny oil, not motor oil or anything else...

Odds are they put the same type of quadrant in it that broke. You should have shelled out a few extra bucks and got an aluminum quadrant and adjustable cable. That is just my .02

Nah I had them put in an aluminum one. I had the plastic one one this new heaver clutch and it broke. And the cable is adjustable. The old one was but never set correctly which made the quadrant brake and the chord to snap.
