Default 93 LX Transylvania help needed

OK, another problem with the recently acquired 93 LX 5.0... There is an aftermarket clutch cable which I've gone through and fixed (it was loose and no firewall adjuster) put in a firewall adjustment piece and the billet cable parts and things shift much better, but...

The tranny whines when trying to shift to second. If you are pulling on the stick you hear the whine and if you stop pulling on it the whine goes away. It is a tough car to get into second, but it does go in. So if I am hearing that whine anyone know what that means?

Second up is 1st gear...at times it is hard to get into 1st, but what I notice is when it won't go into first if I am pushing it like I am putting it in first (clutch in of course) the car will start to roll. Note that the car never gets into gear, it's just me pushing on the stick, trying to get it into gear. But as soon as I release pressure from the stick going into first the car stops rolling. Anyone know what this is all about?

The car is old and I'm not in denial that it is perfect, but trying to get a good idea of what the problem(s) are before I go blindly into the transmission and/or clutch.

Thanks!

Does this car have an aftermarket shifter or stocker yet. Not that some previous owner adjusted the shifter stops the wrong way.

And your sure the clutch is adjusted properly.

I'm no tranny expert, but then it sounds like a rebuild may be in order.

Everything that I know of is stock except the clutch cable. As for adjustment, I've put the firewall adjuster at both ends and center and all the way is a real mess (clutch pedal shoved through the floor to get a chance at shifting, clutch starts to grab just off the floor), centered works better (shifts much better, grab is about 3" off the floor), all the way out shifts are about the same as center (grab is a little hire up, maybe 4-5" off floor)

As for the shifter setup, I haven't looked at that. Never even played with that before so that may be a good place to look.

Anyone know what trans is in this thing? I see F2ZR-70034AA as the part number online. I know I don't need any kind of racing transmission. Just need a solid stock transmission. Anyone have a good feel for cost?

Thanks!
