Default Possibilities and difficulty of modification

Hi guys, so I am looking to buy a 92 coupe. I want a 92 cuz that's my birth year, and cuz I found a guy what has one. But that's beside the point..
So I've looked through several posts here about how to make some power. Super chargers, internals. All that. I think I can figure out from that what parts I need to get where I want. (Somewhere between 300-350whp). But the thing I never see mentioned is the difficulty of doing some of these things. Now, I'm no idiot but I'm also not a mechanic. Now I know what heads and cams and pistons and blowers and things are, and I even kinda know where they go. But I've never delved that deep into an engine. I've done a little repair work but that's about it.
So anyway, my question is kinda both what power mods are simple to do but still effective, and also what the chances are that someone who has never done any engine work like that can accomplish it without screwing everything up

Thanks guys. And hopefully I'll be getting that coupe soon and will be asking plenty of questions

Buy a manual and start reading and doing research. Honestly the only way I learned was by doing stuff myself. There are a ton of resources to help you in the form of books and online. Haynes manuals, Ford Strokers has an online video service that I've heard great things about. Just start looking around and see what you are most comfortable doing. You can easily meet your goals with a H/C/I combo or supercharger.

Welcome to the forum.

My advice to you would be dependent on your ambition level. Do you want to do the work yourself and take the chance you've done everything right or pay someone to do it for you and just get in, turn the key and drive off with a big smile ?

HCI swaps can get you the near the power your looking for, and are pretty much bolt on mods within reason. But the higher up the power level you go, don't forget that will expose the next weakest link, tranny, rear axles, weak frame, etc.

Good luck with the coupe, hope you get it. They are very fun cars.
