Default Comp cams/Hartman intake box

Need some help with installing a comps cam/Hartman upper intake box on my stock 88 gt. hope someone out there has one or remembers these. I got a good deal on a used one so figured I try it out.
Problem is when I tried to install it hits the fuel pressure reg. So was thinking about a 1"spacer but looks like it will be hitting the stock hood then. It measures the same height as stock upper give or take a 1/2".

If you really want to do this you may have to go with a aftermarket hood for clearance.

I'd skip this intake as your going to lose alot of bottom end power and most likely not gain anything on top with the stock lower intake manifold still there. There's alot better ways to mod a Fox. The first being gears for the rearend. If your car still does have the stock ratio yet.

I agree with the orange guy,

There is a reason you dont see to many of those intakes on these cars, they are only ok for cars that run alot of wide open throttle events at high rpm and with alot of supporting mods. Not much good for street cars. A 75 dollar explorer intake would be 10 times better for that engine, if your running stock heads and cam. If it were me Id just try to sell the breadbox and get a gt40 style explorer upper/lower intake from the scrap yard.

Ya that's what I should have just done but like a said got a deal on it. But now it seams like it will start adding up with spacer gaskets bolts.

FTFY lol

Seriously though,, with stock heads and cam,, I figure youll run that intake for a week, then pull it and toss it in the trash. Your car will feel sluggish at any RPM below 3500

No disrespect, but that intake is not a "good deal" for your application. You will be unhappy with from the first drive.

We're not trying to discourage you in anyway, just trying to help you make an informed decision.

As dawson stated, that intake was designed for WOT only, .....on a well modded motor that's happy spinning well past 6000 rpm. Pretty much a "race" only intake or maybe in a boosted application.

Your money/time can be spent in much wiser area's for MUCH better results.
