Default 95 mustang GT in limp mode...please help!

just a few min after starting my mustang the fan kicks on and the car goes into limp mode and lacks power. I did the koeo / koer test and this is what I got.
Koeo
118, 122, 552, 553, 624
koer
998, 118
The car does have smog pump disabled ( done before I got the car) and a bbk cold air pipe.
where should I start to get this thing running right?

How do you know its going into limp mode?? Is the mil/check engine light coming on or are the o2 sensors going from a fluctuating voltage to a fixed voltage??

Change your ECT sensor or check the wiring to it. Code 118 is ECT ( engine coolant temp sensor) above maximum voltage. It will disable adaptive fuel learning, and air/fuel management. Fist sign is that the fan comes on high even when the car is cold. Its not really a limp mode, but it is a factory safeguard. It basically says ok,, engine is very hot ,, run fans on high ,, default to preset air/fuel/timing, this will make the car run like crap no power retarded timing. I would bet money on either the sensor is bad or the wiring is broken.

Thanks for the reply Dawson1112! When i got the var the ect sensor was broken (the sensor right behind the water neck on passenger side). I dug around in the garage and found another one but im not 100% that its good. What your saying makes sence and yes the fan kicks in on high about a minute after I start it. Is there a way to test the the wiring at the connector to see if its good?

Man you were right on! I replaced the ect sensor and fan still came on. Played with the wiring right at connector and fan went off and check engine light went off. Now the question is, where do i get a new sensor wire and connector?
