Default 347 Stroker Build Suggestions

Building a 347 stroker for my 82 Fox. Most likely doing an Eagle rotating assembly as I get them at good prices from my distributor. Thinking AFR 185 heads after doing some resesrch.

After reading tons of posts its looking like Edelbrock is the popular intake manifold, but multiple variants of it. The discussion between a 650 and 750 carb also varies.

Car currently has a Proform 650 which I'd be fine with using for the time being to save a few bucks.

With that said, what is the preferred intake manifold guys are currently using in 347's as well as carb?

Car has a T5 trans and 3.73 gears. Going to be street driven 99% of the time.

Thanks

RNally, Hope this helps. I have built 331 and 347 strokers and have had great success with these combinations.. The choice depends on your application of the vehicle. I also am a advocate of the AFR heads. I have had great success with the AFR 185cc heads and would agree with what you have outlined. If you were building a insane 347 stroker, you could consider the AFR 205cc heads with the track oriented combo. Here it is. Performer RPM or Weiand Stealth with a 650DP will have good street manners and good mid-range. Other end of the spectrum would be Victor Jr with a 750DP, more track oriented upper RPM.

RNally, instead of the AFR 205 heads with the "track oriented combo," I would suggest the AFR 195cc heads, if you plan on serious competition. The 185cc heads also work well with the "track oriented combo." Sorry for the confusion.

I have a 331 stroker with AFR 185cc heads. Phenomenal heads and craftsmanship. You will not be disappointed. It's never a good idea to go cheap on the cylinder heads. If it's a carb application, I'd go Edelbrock for the manifold. They make respectable products.
