Default springs.

OK i know there is probaly a ton of back question about lowering springs, but i want to know what the difference between progressive and varible rate springs. Also id like some opinions as to which would be better to get. ive narrowed it down to 2 sets, the eiback pro-kit or the ford racing "c" springs. I have a 92 5.0 soon to be lowered with 03 cobra rims. Thanks guys.

i have no idea what variable rate is but you just gave the definition for preogressive rate springs. maybe they're the same thing, i dunno.

: Progressive rate springs have a variable spring rate. What this means is that the spring gets firmer as it gets compressed. The harder you push into a corner the stiffer the spring becomes. A specific rate springs features the same rate all the time, it does not matter what pressure is applied on the springs. Progressive rate springs tend to have better characteristics on the street where as a specific rate springs shines on the track.
