Hat of the edelbrock 1406
I'm trying to find out a few things before my scheduled engine pull and freshen-up. I have a 85 GT covert. I am interested know if anyone been running the Edelbrock 1406 carb with the stock dual snorkel air cleaner. Or if anyone has the Eddy 1406, can tell me what the hat size is? This will be the first of many questions. I have i am sure.
and another .... Has anyone installed shorty equal length header on an 83-85 without modifying anything for clearance? was looking at BBK's but not sure if they fit.
I am new to the Mustang scene. but this car was my fathers till he couldn't drive. it's got 95K original miles, 2nd top, and a used driver's seat everything else is original. I am on the fence of freshen it up to be a good driver, or keep it as original. It's oxford white, grey int. no AC no door lock or power windows.
I'm under the impression this is a bit of a rare with the convertible top. or am I wrong?
anyway thanks for your time.

Welcome to the forum.
The 1406 uses the same diameter for the air cleaner base as the Holley does.
I have only put shorties on my 88 LX, but the chassis is the same, with no clearance issues. You will need a double hump crossmember to put true duals on it from an 86-93 V8 car.
