Excessive RPMs
1...1995 GT, 5 speed, Edelbrock heads and 65mm intake, few other minor mods. RPM's at 1600 until car comes to a COMPLETE stop....then returns to ~900. I guess that the PCM is involved....any quick fixes...suggestions...?
2...Also, is there any special trans fluid to use.....or just any quality Mercron/MercronII...?
3...Best place to buy original pedal 'rubbers'.....no Ford dealer in town.
Thanx for any info.

Mercon V is Synthetic, what I use in mine.
Mercon and II, Dexron III (there was no Mercon III) are very old and are supposedly not available anymore.
I have seen IV at Walmart, but not Motorcraft. Mercon V has superseded all other Mercon, and is what it
should say in the user manual. About 4-5 quarts for a pan drop and filter change. Can use any Mercon V
on the walmart shelf...
Check eBay for pedal rubbers, or covers...

Yes, even my former '06 HHR 5-Speed took ATF, I used Dexron VI in that, it's
what it called for.
